This measure is used to assess a person's perception of ongoing and enduring sources of stress in his/her life conditions. Chronic or enduring stress is measured through self-reports of whether a set of stressful conditions describe the individual's situation. Chronic stress, as well as more typical measures of current stress, have been shown to influence physical health, mental health, aging, use of health care services, and recovery outcomes (both for health and health care).
