Escherichia coli and/or Klebsiella pneumoniae and/or Pseudomonas aeruginosa commonly isolated from human blood cultures can be detected by qualitative, multicolor nucleic acid hybridization assays. Testing is performed to help clinicians determine appropriate antimicrobial therapy for patients with Gram-negative bacteremia. This code is based on, but not limited in use to, a submission for AdvanDx's GNR Traffic Light PNA FISH assay. The test is done on blood cultures that have positive growth of an organism, not directly from a blood sample.
