The standard RMR is defined as 3.5 mL O2/kg/min. The exercise metabolic rate can be measured (this term), estimated [LOINC: 82262-7], or reported [LOINC: 82263-5]. Additionally, METs can be further adjusted based on patient demographics, such as age, sex and BMI [LOINC: 82271-8].
