The type of influenza vaccine (e.g. seasonal or non-seasonal) used. The seasonal flu shot protects against influenza viruses predicted to be the most common during the upcoming season based on research. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) surveillance for healthcare personnel vaccinations. For NHSN, seasonal is the default answer.
