The information about the case report, including the assigned case identifier, the date/time of receipt of the initial case report, the processing status, and whether or not the case report was manually initiated by a healthcare provider. When a case report document is not processed, this section may contain a statement that the receiver (i.e. public health system) was unable to process the file (e.g. due to issues with file corruption, encryption, or malformation) and that the submitter will need to resend the file. This term was created for, but not limited in use to, the Electronic Initial Case Report Section in the HL7 CDA® R2 Implementation Guide: Reportability Response, Release 1 - US Realm.
