This test detects fusions (rearrangements) involving the NTRK1, NTRK2, and NTKR3 genes to identify solid tumors that may respond to NTRK-targeted therapies. These NTRK genes rearrange with more than 80 fusion gene partners, leading to tumorigenesis across a variety of tumor types.[PMID: 31075511] The collection of information contained by this term may include the test method(s), targeted fusion variants, the overall result (fusion variant detected/not detected), the fusion variant identified, the interpretation, recommendations, references and clinical trial information.
