This panel contains results for the detection of paraneoplastic antibodies in cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) specimens by immunofluorescence (IF). Testing is performed for the diagnosis of paraneoplastic neurological autoimmune disorders related to specific cancers, most commonly small-cell lung carcinoma, ovarian and breast carcinoma, breast carcinoma, or Hodgkin lymphoma. Detection of marker autoantibodies is useful for early diagnosis and treatment of the cancer.
