This test is a set of timed glucagon measurements in response to a mixed meal after fasting overnight. Glucagon levels are taken pre and post stimulus. Testing is performed for the diagnosis and follow-up of glucagonomas and other glucagon-producing tumors. It is also useful for assessing diabetic patients with hyper- or hypoglycemic episodes.
