Definicja i opis

This panel contains quantitative results for angiotensin II (1-8) ("Ang II") and angiotensin (1-7) ("Ang 1-7") in plasma. Measurement of Ang II and Ang 1-7, which have opposing effects, is performed to provide a better estimation of the biological effects of activation of the renin-angiotensin-system. Testing may be performed as an adjunct to plasma renin activity (PRA) and aldosterone measurements for the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism and renal-vascular hypertension, and to investigate potential associations between Ang II, Ang 1-7, and outcomes of COVID-19.
