This test detects autoantibodies to inner ear antigens including 130-kD, 68-kD, 42-kD, and 30-kD that may be associated with autoimmune inner ear disease (AIDE). AIDE is a heterogeneous group of diseases that include rapidly progressive sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), Meniere's disease (MD), and sudden deafness (SD).
