Definicja i opis

The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) is a simple tool for the evaluation of organ function in critically ill patients. SOFA assesses the performance of six systems, Respiratory (PaO2/FiO2), Liver (Bilirubin), Cardiovascular (Hypotension), Coagulation (Platelet count), Central Nervous System (Glasgow Coma Score) and Renal (Creatinine). Higher SOFA scores are associated with greater mortality risk. [PMID: 9824069]
