Definicja i opis

Antibodies that bind to the cell nucleus, or nuclear antibodies, are found in autoimmune rheumatic diseases. The diagnostic workup includes evaluation of the presence of nuclear antibody in serum. If nuclear antibody is present, then antibodies to specific nuclear antigens are tested to determine which condition is present. This panel includes the test for nuclear antibody and tests for specific nuclear antigens.
